STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Bristol Community College is seeking qualified applicants as part-time instructors with our Division II, Behavioral and Social Sciences - Paralegal Studies Program.
These courses may be face-to-face classes that may be located in Attleboro, Fall River, New Bedford and Taunton, and/or online and hybrid courses which are offered through eLearning. Courses are held in the day, evenings, and for the weekend college (Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays). Applicants who are qualified to teach in one or more of the following courses are encouraged to apply.
PLS 101 - Civil Litigation and Procedure
PLS 120 - Basic Legal Research
PLS 121 - Family Law and Procedure
PLS 230 - Criminal Law and Procedure
PLS 232 - Advanced Legal Research and Writing
PLS 242 - Business Organization for Paralegals
PLS 241 - Wills, Estates, and Trusts
PLS 231 - Interviewing and Investigation
PLS 235 - Immigration Law
PLS 240 - Real Estate Law
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Dean of Behavioral & Social Sciences
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: N/A
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A licensed attorney with a law degree from an American Bar Association accredited institution or a Master's degree with 5 years of full-time work experience in the legal field; experience teaching at the College level and working with or as a paralegal; and a demonstrated commitment in participating in professional growth activities that improve teaching effectiveness and work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
POSITION STATUS: MCCC/MTA positions.
SALARY: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience and consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
