The Senior Privacy Analyst is a key member of the Office of the UCLA Chief Privacy Officer (CPO). Under the CPO's direct supervision, the incumbent will be responsible for leading the development and provisioning of operational privacy services to the campus. This position will collaborate with all levels of UCLA administration as a member of the campus's data breach response team, in reviewing campus agreements, and during campuswide policy development. Incumbent exercises independent judgment and creativity to identify problems, interpret policies and procedures, recommend and implement solutions, and meet departmental and organizational goals.
Key job responsibilities
-Act as the primary privacy representative on the campuswide incident response team for data breach and cyber security incidents
-Provide review of major campus agreements being negotiated with vendors and other third parties with which University data is shared, to ensure that UC privacy, data breach, and confidentiality requirements are met
-Extend and implement the campus privacy program's operational service catalog
-Coordinate closely on operational data protection initiatives of the Chief Information Security Officer and other functional areas with core data privacy and security compliance purview (e.g., Audit, Compliance, HIPAA privacy officers)
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in business, pre-law, technology, information security, or related field, and four (4) years minimum related experience in a privacy, legal, or compliance capacity; or Master's degree in business, pre-law, technology, information security, or related field, and three (3) years minimum related experience in a privacy, legal, or compliance capacity.

Working knowledge of the laws that affect privacy; with specific application to educational and research institutions preferred

Experience with information management, security, and technology
Advanced ability to maintain confidentiality of documents and communications, whether written or verbal; experience handling attorney-client privileged communications preferred
Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat; advanced ability to use Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat preferred; comfort with videoconferencing preferred
Bachelor's degree in business, pre-law, technology, information security, or related field, and four (4) years minimum related experience in a privacy, legal, or compliance capacity, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Advanced project management skills
Experience within an institution of higher education
General knowledge of creating accessible web pages, Word documents, and PDF files
