We have an immediate opening for a Legal Recruiting Coordinator in our Kansas City or St. Louis office. The Legal Recruiting Coordinator coordinates recruiting and hiring processes for summer associates and new associates and assist in other lawyer recruiting and retention efforts. Essential job functions include:
Responsible for development and implementation of our law student recruiting and hiring efforts, working with the Director of Legal Recruiting, the rest of the Recruiting & Professional Development Team, and City Hiring Chairs and their committees.
Coordinate our traditional summer associate and new associate recruiting and hiring:
Respond to applicant inquiries.
Manage the scheduling of on-campus interviews (“OCI”) and job fairs.
Coordinate lawyer information packets for OCI.
Schedule follow-up and call-back interviews for candidates.
Coordinate interview schedules for candidates.
Maintain relationships/communication with law school career placement offices.
Assists with organization and planning of student receptions.
Organize and prepare candidate information/evaluations for City Hiring Chairs and committees.
Manage and confirm travel, hotel, and transportation arrangements.
Update candidate database information; prepare status reports as needed.
Communicate with candidates throughout the recruiting and hiring process.
Help plan and coordinate our Summer Associate Programs, including substantive and social events.
Ensure that candidate offer letters are in proper form and approved.
Prepare and processes candidate travel expenses.
Coordinate Bar Exam Registration and Bar Review Courses.
Coordinates salary stipends while studying for the Bar Exam.
Assist with the Fall Associate Orientation.
Lateral Associate Recruiting:
Assist with initiating searches.
Maintain and process fee agreements with search firms.
Coordinate scheduling of interviews with candidates and attorneys.
Follow and complete lateral hiring checklist procedures.
Assist with recruiting, diversity, and retention projects and initiatives as requested by the Director of Legal Recruiting.
Assist with preparation of annual Hiring Committee meeting.
Assist in the development of the annual recruiting budget.
Assist the Director of Legal Recruiting as needed in monitoring the recruiting budget, approving recruiting/hiring related expenses, and paying invoices for same.
Assist with collection and analysis of data and statistics for participation in surveys and other requests.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date recruiting records and files.
Associate’s Degree in related field required; Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
3+ of experience at an administrative level in the legal or professional services industry.
Experience in managing process recordkeeping, databases, and scanned documents (LawCruit experience preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications (graphics/layout application experience for publications preferred).
Typing/Word Processing at a minimum of 40 WPM.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding candidates, as well as firm and recruiting matters.
Ability to understand the overall firm wide recruiting and professional development process.
Possess understanding of basic office methods, practices, procedures, including filing systems, spelling, grammar and punctuation, as well as a general knowledge of principles related to personnel and recruiting policies.
Ability to deliver superior service to all internal and external customers and communicate effectively.
Ability to interact in a professional and courteous manner with clients and employees at all times; professional appearance required.
Ability to successfully perform position requirements with excellent organizational, time-management and prioritization skills required.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team; ability and willingness to adapt to changing business demands.
Ability to produce acceptable amount of work efficiently and accurately; ability to produce quality final work product.
Ability to exercise good judgment at all times by making sound and practical decisions; ability to assume responsibility for decisions and act decisively under deadlines.
High level of professional integrity required; ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust.
Position is generally sedentary in nature; involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
