Fenwick’s Knowledge & Innovation team has an opening for Knowledge & Innovation Delivery Director to join our team of attorneys, technologists, researchers and business analysts to help shape the future of delivering legal services to our cutting edge clients.
The right candidate will be a collaborative leader with strong operational and technical skills who can maintain a big picture view of the Firm’s business and can provide direction, inspiration and experience to Knowledge & Innovation Attorneys, business analysts and research and technical professionals. This position can be based in any one of our CA offices (San Francisco, San Jose, Foster City, Mountain View), NY office (New York) or WA office (Seattle), with required travel into our Mountain View office as needed.
The Director Will:
Have strong operational experience with a deep understanding of technology, project management and business process improvement methodologies.
Be a collaborative leader on the KID management team responsible for executing Knowledge Management & Innovation strategy at Fenwick that drives revenue growth and improves client experience across all practices and departments.
Collaboratively lead Innovation Attorneys, Business Analysts and related department managers to develop and deliver user centered business solutions which improve internal and external client experience.
In conjunction with the Senior Director, Firm practice groups and staff groups help to establish efficient and effective processes for maintaining and leveraging the knowledge of the Firm to provide results to clients.
Direct knowledge & innovation attorneys and other specialists in:
Collecting and automating Firm documents and processes
Building Firm knowledge sharing systems that provide contextual information to fee-earners and clients when and where needed
Integrating, supporting and coordinating the Firm’s knowledge and business processes
Collaborate effectively with practice groups, team members and other departments to establish creative solutions to business problems that meet Firm objectives.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Ideally experienced in scaling innovation through process in a professional services firm
Ability to empathize and engage with attorneys to look at processes and service delivery through a business lens
Ability to leverage and grow team members experience around project management, innovation and process
Strong communication skills
Management and mentoring skills
Bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree in a relevant field is desirable
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and SharePoint
Advanced knowledge of relevant technology systems and applications used in law firms and/or legal departments
Five to eight years explicit knowledge management, operations management, process improvement, legal practice, or legal operations experience in a law firm or corporate setting preferred.
