Overview: This position supports legal activities for Alaska Air Group (AAG) and its subsidiaries. The company’s in-house legal team works in a unique “Shared Services” environment. Employed by Alaska Airlines, the attorneys provide legal services for Alaska Airlines, Virgin America, Horizon Air, and Alaska Air Group. This position is one of three senior attorneys and, along with the Managing Director, Attorney II, and paralegals, is responsible for all labor and employment law services. This Senior Attorney will focus the bulk of their time handling labor and employment matters for the companies’ employees, including advising on contract interpretation and grievances, advising on labor negotiations and providing contract support, managing internal investigations, providing policy advice, advising on employment law matters, and handling labor arbitrations and other dispute resolution matters. This role provides day-to-day advice on all aspects of the employee/employer relationship.

Compensation: Competitive compensation package includes base salary and incentive bonus opportunity in addition to other employee benefits.
Experience: Minimum of 6+ years of traditional labor law experience is required. The ideal candidate will be from a top firm with deep traditional labor law background including first or second chair experience in labor arbitrations, and depth in collective bargaining agreements and negotiations. Familiarity with airline industry/RLA issues is desirable but not required.
Relos: Yes. A comprehensive relocation package is available for candidates located outside the local area.
Bar: Licensed attorney in good standing of at least one state bar required, preferably Washington State.
