NJRetina is a single subspecialty ophthalmic practice consisting of two care centers, with financial operations run from a central business office in Union, NJ.Â NJRetina South (formerly Retina Vitreous Center) consists of 10 doctors in 8 offices.Â The practice manager is essentially a regional COO, reporting to the Managing Partner and COO/CFO. Responsibilities include coordinating operations with the CBO and directly overseeing all aspects of care center management.Â Â Within the care center, additional management structure includes the physician board, an operations manager, executive assistant, surgical coordinator, study coordinators, and individual office managers.
Financial oversight of Practice, includes: invoices, vendors, corporate cards, bank statement reconciliations, management of loans and borrowing strategies.
File NJ annual corporate reports. Ensures that all reports to government agencies are on time / liaison with accountant and attorney.
Responsible for creating and maintaining an office budget. Work with physician committees concerning marketing, finance/overhead, compliance/audit, etc.
Oversight of marketing operations. Management/update of referral lists.
Oversight of pharmaceutical inventory management.
Manage equipment and service contracts. Investigates and determines economic aspects of new equipment and facility needs.
Participate in perpetuating and ensuring practice growth.
Run partner meetings. Run manager meetings with operations manager.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports.
Monitor Medicare and 3rd party insurance regulatory changes and implement within practice.
Manage real estate, including rent collection, distributions, condo association management, lease renewals, tax prep, etc.
State and corporate tax preparation with accountant for multiple entities.
Work with CBO to implement top-down strategies such as MIPS/MACRA performance and reporting.
Oversight of IT utilization and involvement in implementation of IT.
Oversight of physician and staff schedules. Manage administrative staff.
Oversight of all personnel with operations manager. Oversee evaluations/bonuses/raises.
Ensure that patient privacy is being maintained according to HIPAA laws and that the offices meet OSHA, ADA and other standards.
Ensure that all physician licenses and credentialing are up-to-date.
Assistance with special projects, such as educational meetings, research data collection, etc.
Understanding laws and standards of HIPAA, ADA, OSHA and other regulations.
Ability to compile and analyze data and furnish concise, detailed information in report format, written correspondence, e- mail or verbally.
Working knowledge of CMS Medicare guidelines.
Understand medical software applications; Knowledge of medical insurance, health records, coding and billing systems.
Excellent analytical and technical skills requiring an aptitude for detail, precision and logic with knowledge of all aspects of the business development.
