As part of the greater Firmwide Legal Recruiting & Development Department, the Attorney Training Specialist’s primary focus is the coordination and implementation of attorney training programs as assigned, with a particular focus practice area training.
Essential Job Responsibilities Include:
Manage the administrative tasks for various practice area training programs including communicating with presenters, serving as a liaison for multiple offices, invitations and room logistics (which may require working through the lunch hour)
Communicate and collaborate with other offices on scheduling, handouts, logistical and technical meeting support for assigned trainings
Create and maintain learning tracks for practice group curriculum
Prepare statistical reports, including attendance reports for all training programs
Validate CLE credits for programming, track and report CLE training hours to the Associate Review Committee for associates and provide general assistance to attorneys with respect to CLE
Update SharePoint sites as directed
Assist with coordination of major annual firmwide attorney training programs such as KITA
Assist with coordination of departmental happy hour events
Support the Chicago Office summer associate training program
The Attorney Training team is looking for someone who has 4+ years of experience in Training and/or Professional Development. Professional services or law firm experience is preferred. Ideal candidates will possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships among lawyers and staff to achieve results. S/he will be highly organized, possess excellent proofreading and communication skills, event coordination skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, a very strong attention to detail and a professional demeanor. This position requires a high level of collaboration with attorneys and staff in other offices, the ability to work independently, and the ability to exercise independent judgment. The individual must have or develop strong familiarity with Illinois CLE rules, and the ability to communicate with attorneys regarding same. Technical experience should include MS Word, SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint.
