Reporting to the Director of Technology Transfer, the Senior Business Development and Licensing Manager will be responsible for commercializing Dartmouth's research assets by identifying, evaluating, marketing, and licensing inventions made by Dartmouth inventors. This position will primarily serve engineering and computer sciences.

Technology Transfer Office Operations
Takes a proactive role in commercializing of scientific discoveries, protecting Dartmouth's intellectual property rights, educating faculty, students and administrators on Patent Law and commercialization, ensuring adherence to compliance procedures and federal regulations.
Works with the Office of Sponsored Projects, the Office of the General Counsel, and other Dartmouth offices as appropriate regarding intellectual property and confidentiality issues.
Advises faculty, students, and administrators on intellectual property issues.
Maintains, improves, drafts and develops all standard contract templates for routine and non-routine technology transfer transactions, including but not limited to material transfer agreements, data transfer agreements, and confidential disclosure agreements.
Develops and delivers informational sessions and educational workshops for the Dartmouth Community, including faculty, students, and staff.
Attends professional development sessions as needed to develop and maintain knowledge related to the many facets of technology transfer, its regulation, efficient service to the institution, and industry contacts.
Participates in the development of technology transfer infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
Participates in committees and working groups as assigned.
Trains and mentors support staff and interns as needed.
Evaluation of Intellectual Property and Licensing
Evaluates new inventions for patentability and market
Performs market research, develops marketing strategy, values, and markets licensable intellectual property generated in the College and its professional schools.
Markets licensable intellectual property generated in the College and its professional schools. Creates marketing materials with the input from the inventor.
Works closely with inventors and administrators, outside patent counsel, licensing attorneys, and industry representatives in the conduct of technology transfer activities.
Negotiates and drafts various agreements with the private sector, such as sponsored research, material transfer, testing, confidentiality, and standard license agreements.
Manages licenses for compliance
Monitors accuracy and completeness of database records.
