The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond has an immediate openings for Law Enforcement Officers in our Richmond and Baltimore offices. In this highly visible roles, your availability must be flexible to accommodate any shift over a 24 hour period (Day, Evenings, or Overnight). You will protect and safeguard Bank operations, property and employees and perform various duties of a Law Enforcement Officer to provide protection to the organization's employees, visitors, properties, and all items of value on Bank premises while under direct supervision. You will operate various technologies, including, but not limited to X-ray and magnetometer screening equipment, access control systems and other specialized areas of security related equipment. This position also responds to Bank emergencies, drills, alarms, potentially dangerous situations, including providing aid to individuals in distressed situations.

***Hiring range is $42,700-$53,400 annually--plus overtime and a shift differential, where applicable

Responds to Bank emergencies, drills, alarms, potentially dangerous situations and other circumstances
Controls vehicle and pedestrian access to building; receives the public, determines nature of business, and directs persons to appropriate destination
Escorts individuals throughout the building when needed; examines packages coming into building; ensures all persons in Bank are properly displaying appropriate access badges
Responds to emergency calls and routine complaints and disturbances and takes action as necessary
Performs both vehicle and walking patrols to prevent crimes and enforce laws and ordinances
Operates various technologies such as, but not limited to, x-ray and magnetometer screening equipment
Operates as a law enforcement officer pursuant to the delegated authority granted by the Board of Governors in Section 11(q) of the Federal Reserve Act
Enforces federal laws and Federal Reserve System policies and regulations, to protect life, property, and assets
Responds to incidents and provides emergency assistance. Is a sworn Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Officer, pursuant to the authority granted by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, and approved by the U.S. Attorney General, Section (q) of the Federal Reserve Act. Section 364 of the USA Patriot Act of 2001 amended section 11 of the Federal Reserve Act, to provide federal law enforcement authority for protection personnel at Reserve Banks).
Participates in recertification programs including firearms, policies, legal, etc. to receive updated information and maintain skill proficiency
Stays current on all Department policies and procedures, such as Officer Liability, report writing, emergency procedures, methods of identification, and other specialized procedures
Demonstrates proficient and safe use of various firearms
Provides basic first aid in emergency situations, including CPR with Automatic External Defibrillator. Attends annual first aid and CPR training to maintain current certifications
Communicates effectively within the team and to customers, stakeholders and constituents
Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Prefer some college courses or graduation from an accredited college or university
Prior law enforcement experience preferred
Successful completion of a Basic Law Enforcement Course
Requires working knowledge of Law Enforcement procedures and operations
Knowledge of various automated physical security controls.
Knowledge of life-saving techniques such as first aid, CPR, AED; certification in standard first aid, CPR, and AED required
Familiarity with the use of various firearms; must maintain firearms qualification
Must have basic computer skills
Must be able to pass physical and psychological examinations by Bank-designated licensed personnel
May be confined to one area for extended periods of time, requiring sitting or standing and significant visual concentration. May be required to work in extreme climate conditions
In emergency situations, may be required to forcefully restrain/pursue individuals, run fast, climb stairs, etc.
