Duane Morris LLP, a law firm with 750+ attorneys in offices across the U.S. and internationally, is seeking a Practice Support Manager to join our Information Services department headquartered in Philadelphia. The right candidate will be responsible for management of staff members and dotted line responsibility for firm docket administrators. Will manage the firm’s 200+ software applications. Act as liaison between the IS department and attorneys for all legal technology issues. Develop and monitor Practice Support portion of IS budget and insure that budget is not exceeded. Will have a reputation as a leader in the Practice Support/Litigation Support/eDiscovery arena. Responsibilities also include: development and continued growth of the litigation support capabilities of the firm; counsel attorneys on ESI management issues; ability to find creative, cost efficient ways to manage litigation matters. Monitor, test and assess new technologies related to eDiscovery. Manage the litigation servers with regard to scope, available resources, costs and performance and find way to improve services. Manage and coordinate educational training for lawyers, legal assistants and other users regarding the litigation support applications used.
Bachelors’ degree or equivalent number of combined years/experience required. A minimum of 5 years law firm/legal department experience, managing projects, developing training, creating and overseeing budgets. Must have expert knowledge of all aspects of eDiscovery, including forensic implications and proper handling of data. Must be detail oriented and have a strong ability to work accurately and meet deadlines under strict time constraints. Solid problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to make pertinent decisions in a timely manner. Ability to work independently, proactively and effectively in a fast-paced, complex and dynamic environment. Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and interact with a diverse group of contacts and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact. Must be flexible and possess excellent organizational and project management skills necessary to prioritize and successfully accomplish numerous tasks and projects simultaneously. Strong understanding of the law at the state and federal levels as it relates to eDiscovery.
