PeaceHealth is seeking a Sr. Workers Compensation Specialist - Employee Health for a 1.0 full time equivalent Exempt position. This position will be working Day shift with shift durations of 8 Hours .

Facilitates the Workers' Compensation claims process for PeaceHealth. Responsibilities include working closely with caregivers, management, the insurance carrier and departmental staff to manage claim services.
Facilitates the entire workers' compensation claims management process.
Works with regional caregivers during the claims process to effectively manage the claim, with the main goal to return the caregiver to their job at injury with the least amount of delay and unnecessary costs.
Works collaboratively with Employee Health and Human Resources staff to manage workers' compensation claims and other associated issues.
Works collaboratively with the insurance carrier to proactively manage workers' compensation claims in the most medically beneficial and cost effective manner for regional caregivers with workers' compensation claims.
Works collaboratively with various parties connected with a claim, including but not limited to attorneys, investigators, and State agencies.
Works closely with regional management staff in managing their employee's workers' compensation claims.
Identify problems and opportunities for improvement; develop strategies and recommendations to reduce the number of workers' compensation claims and to lower the costs of those claims.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Two years college coursework in a related field or equivalent is required.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Three years previous workers' compensation claims management experience, preferably in a health care setting.
Nurse Case Manager Experience preferred
Current State Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner Certification preferred.
Proficient expertise in MS Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) preferred; knowledge of workers' compensation database preferred.
Knowledge of workers' compensation insurance laws and legal terminology required.
Good written and verbal skills are also required.
