Performs professional judicial duties involved in interpreting and applying the local, State and Federal laws, conducts the hearing of minimal court cases and determines cases which are in the jurisdiction of the Court.
This classification is not supervisory.
The position is part-time, non-benefited, on-call covering judicial absences or special calendars at the City Court.
Initially appointed by the City Council to a two-year term, with opportunities for subsequent reappointment to a four-year term.
Education and Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of law.
Five years progressively responsible experience.
Preferred experience in criminal jury trials.
Licensing, Certifications, and Other Requirements
Member of the State Bar of Arizona
The court seeks the availability to conduct hearings during the work week Monday- Friday (8:00 am-5:00 pm), as well as preside over weekend and holiday jail court proceedings.
Additional Salary Information: $55.44/Hour
