As a member of the Practice and Client Services team, the Senior Programmer Analyst will evaluate project requirements and develop solutions based on the requirements. This role will act as a focal point for detailed analysis and recommend design decisions based on their expertise. This may require the Senior Programmer Analyst to perform additional analysis to understand and meet user requirements by interviewing users, assisting in the planning of a solution and writing the code for a given solution. The Senior Programmer Analyst will serve as a “go to” development resource and it is expected that they will express their creativity in developing effective solutions while leading projects with direct contact to the attorneys. Winston & Strawn LLP, an international law firm with 16 offices, has an immediate opening for a Senior Manager of Attorney Recruiting & Development who will be responsible all aspects of attorney recruiting and development for the New York office.
Perform detail analysis, design, and coding of solutions to meet user requirements by interviewing users, planning project lifecycle and writing code. This may be done independently for smaller scale projects; or on a team for larger scale projects under the guidance of Practice and Client Services team members, Project Managers, and/or IS department management.
Lead programming team’s efforts on projects as assigned by Development Team Supervisor. Act as a focal point for detail analysis and recommending design decisions. Assist Development Team Supervisor in allocating resources for projects.
Mentor other programmers in design and coding as required.
Customize and configure purchased software to meet solution requirements. Work with vendors as necessary.
Provide technical support or other operational tasks on software as required.
Continually keep project team up to date with projects’ status as necessary.
Maintain documentation and backups of firm developed applications and code.
Continually monitor existing software applications; propose upgrades when appropriate.
Provide support to clients’ technical staff as appropriate.
Advise IS staff on systems and programming issues as they relate to network, telecommunication and hardware issues.
Evaluate hardware requirements; propose changes as needed to enhance software function.
Must be specifically listed on resume in order to be considered for this position:
Bachelor's Degree Required.
5+ years of experience in computer programming and/or developing applications.
Advanced degree preferred.
Law Firm experience desired.
General understanding of operating systems, networks and software/hardware platforms.
Identifies, analyzes and solves varied, unrelated problems by modifying standard processes to develop alternative courses of action.
Oral and/or written communication skills to advise on complex matters which may require significant interpretation.
Experience in Agile Development Methodologies such as Scrum.
Knowledge in designing, developing, and implementing custom SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2013 solutions.
