The focus of the role is to support the Southern CA In-House recruiters with business development initiatives. The successful candidate will also assist with retained attorney searches for our corporate clients on an as needed basis. Some of your responsibilities in the Director role over a 12 month to 24 month period will include:
Primary Business Development Responsibilities: • Contacting decision makers in the in-house legal departments (and Human Resources & Finance) of large and mid-size companies with the objective of introducing the Southern California In-House recruiters and our retained search services. Contacts will occur in a variety of ways including in-person, cold calls, social media, • Maintain knowledge of legal market conditions. • Perform research through social media, internet, and other means to identify targets, initiate and cultivate client relationships, • Maintain database records on clients and schedule appointments for the Southern California In-House recruiters to meet with clients. • Plan and organize networking events for the Southern California In-House Team. • Prepare PowerPoint or other presentation materials for networking events/speaking engagements in conjunction with recruiters. • Occasional travel outside of Southern California to pursue client development efforts, which could include Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Idaho.
Secondary Recruiting Responsibilities: • Develop search/candidate criteria and perform research utilizing various proprietary, legal and internet sources, to identify qualified candidates. • Assist with the execution of a search including o Conduct preliminary screening interviews of candidates. o Schedule candidate interviews. o Assist in managing candidate activity through the search process. o Prepare draft presentation write-ups of candidates. o Together with senior recruiter, meet with clients; prepare drafts of position descriptions, reports and other documents.

• BA/BS and JD degrees are required. • 4-7+ years’ experience working in a large law firm, in-house law department, executive or legal recruiting firm, ideally in the Southern California market. • Excellent research experience and skills. • Prior sales experience is a plus. • Positivity and a “can-do” attitude are crucial. • Proven project management experience and strong organizational abilities. • Ability to present a confident demeanor, a broad perspective and have the ability to listen and think strategically. • The successful candidates will be capable of performing research to identify targets, engage in cold and warm calling prospective clients and have the ability to establish and cultivate business relationships with C-level executives. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Energetic, charismatic, solutions-oriented, self-motivated, and highly driven candidates are desired. • Outstanding writing skills. • High energy and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Entrepreneurial, risk-positive spirit. • Extraordinary dedication to client service. • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity. • Strong team orientation; interested in being surrounded by and being a supportive colleague. • Sense of humor.
Compensation is a base salary while you learn the business, with the potential to transition to a largely commission based compensation plan after an initial training period, and with the successful achievement of measurable goals.
