The Law and Economics Center is a national center for research and education that focuses on the timely and relevant economic analysis of legal and public policy issues. To fulfill its education mission, the LEC provides dynamic training programs in law and economics on a national basis to sophisticated audiences including judges, attorneys general, congressional staff and academics.
The Antonin Scalia Law School is the law school of northern Virginia and is strategically located in Arlington, Va., just two miles from downtown Washington, D.C. The Event Coordinator will be responsible for handling the logistical elements of the large number of education programs offered by the LEC and the School of Law with an appreciation for the well-educated audiences the LEC and the Law School serves, and the ability to execute professional and polished events with excellence.
A bachelor's degree (preferred in hospitality or business), or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Strong organizational skills;
Ability to respond to tasks with a sense of urgency and to manage multiple deadlines effectively;
Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented and accuracy-driven;
Ability to perform duties with high-level professionalism, flexibility, discretion, judgment, diplomacy and tact;
Must have excellent communication skills, both spoken and written;
A valid driver's license, ability to travel independently, and ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends; and
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and a familiarity with database software.
Experience working in the hotel or meeting planning industry is preferred; and
Demonstrated experience event planning, and production experience.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
