Senior Administrative Assistant serves as assistant to four attorneys and one Contract Review Officer in the Office of University Legal Counsel. This position performs legal research in response to subpoenas and briefs and gathers documentation for responding to discovery requests and other litigation support. In addition, this position maintains current law library, prepares correspondence and legal documents, coordinates attorneys’ calendars, and manages all office functions, including but not limited to, managing a comprehensive records system and answering the office phone, greeting visitors, and daily mail distribution. Serves as Safety Plan Coordinator, assists with contract review, is responsible for ULC fixed assets, and assists with travel and Requestor/Receiver in Hokie Mart.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent level of training and or experience. - Executive assistant experience in a professional or higher education environment. - Experience in preparing documentation in a professional business manner. - Strong computer skills and experience with a variety of software applications. - Excellent organization, interpersonal, communication and time managements skills, and the ability to handle difficult situations. - Ability to work with and maintain confidential and sensitive material. - Must be able to safely move and handle items weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Paralegal Certification or equivalent level training and experience. - Knowledge of University and state policies and procedures. - Working knowledge of WESTLAW. - Experience utilizing Banner and HokieMart.
