Coblentz Patch Duffy & Bass LLP, a top tier San Francisco law firm, is currently seeking an Applications Administrator/Trainer to join its dynamic Information Technology Department. In conjunction with the firm's established policies and procedures, the Applications Administrator/Trainer is responsible for managing the selection, testing, and troubleshooting of desktop applications for all internal users. Key responsibilities also include delivery of training to end users on desktop applications in support of business objectives, and designing, delivering, and improving in-house desktop application training programs and related coursework. Design, develop, and deliver software applications training programs and individual classes.
Coordinate with department heads, including Human Resources, Marketing, and Accounting, to select members to assess departmental training needs and objectives.
Develop and coordinate an overall desktop applications training curriculum for end users of all levels and new courses for new and existing desktop applications, including course materials and exercises.
Present training sessions, create and communicate training schedules, and track training participants' status and results. Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen. Periodically review training materials and documentation and update as necessary.
Design, plan, organize, and deliver computer training for new employees
Create and administer training event feedback mechanisms. Analyze results, make recommendations for training improvement, and integrate changes in curriculum and/or courses. Report on end user needs assessments and skills assessments.
Communicate software problems and issues to IT department colleagues.
In conjunction with Director of Information Technology and IT Manager, assess and recommend courseware packages, and support development of appropriate courseware tools.
Stay up-to-date with developments in both commercial and custom-built desktop applications used in the firm, and also up-to-date with trends in law firms and the legal industry.
Required Experience, Job Related Competencies, and Essential Knowledge:
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, and/or 5+ years equivalent work experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including instructional and presentation skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on motivational skills and positive attitudes.
Ability to present information and communicate (using business-friendly and user-friendly language) calmly, with courtesy and tact, in one-on-one and small group situations, with co-workers, attorneys, supervisors, clients, and others.
Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly, good analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to research course development and delivery concepts.
Very strong customer service orientation, good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives, and ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Experience with building and maintaining course and participant databases.
Proven experience with adult learning principles, methodologies, and course design techniques.
Experience with staff development and collaboration with human resources management, contract negotiation and vendor management.
Qualified candidates will have a thorough working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat (10.0 or most recent), AIA Forms, Citrix XenApp, Crowther Consulting, Legal Macros or similar, and DealProof / Drafting Assistant. Experience with DTE Time Entry or similar is required.
Candidates must be fully proficient in iManage Filesite, NetDocuments or similar Document Management System and LegalKey Records Management or similar. Familiarity with SharePoint is preferred.
Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional Suite (2010) and Windows Desktop OS is required.
