Coordinates activities related to the recruiting and hiring of lawyers (entry level, experienced lateral, and non-partner track career attorneys) and assists with other recruitment initiatives as required. Assists the Legal Recruiting Department leadership including the Director of Legal Recruiting, Legal Recruiting Managers, Senior Legal Recruiting Coordinators and works with other Legal Recruiting staff on all matters related to hiring.
Manages entry level screening interview process, including but not limited to registration, scheduling, preparing interview materials, researching candidate histories and submitting feedback forms to interviewing sites.
Manages callback interview process, including but not limited to scheduling, greeting, coaching, and communicating with candidates. Works directly with the on-campus interviewing lawyers to assist with the interviews process.
Coordinates hiring events including 1L events, callback events, hiring receptions, and offeree dinners.
Oversees preparation of correspondence in response to employment inquiries and coordinates communication with all applicants on behalf of the firm.
Organizes outreach to prospective candidates including on-campus events designed to market the firm; partner with career services personnel and faculty to raise firm’s profile; interact with network of former R&G summer associates.
Acts as liaison with legal placement agencies, law school career services offices, prospective candidates, and Ropes & Gray lawyers and staff to ensure a smooth hiring program.
Assists with the non-partner track career attorney recruitment process including career associate, senior attorney, hourly attorney, knowledge management attorney and career counsel hires.
Collaborates with Legal Recruiting Director and Legal Recruiting Managers and others to source and present the most viable candidates to the PGLs/Partners initiating experienced lateral attorney and career searches. Participates in creation and editing of job descriptions. Consults on venues for job announcements most likely to obtain desired candidates; maintains online candidate applications and job postings on R&G website. Shepherds candidate through interview process from screening interview to callback to second look to offer to onboarding. Schedules interviews, prepares interview schedules and memos and trouble-shoots as needed. Generates offer letters for all candidates. Orders, reviews, investigates and clears background checks for all offerees; submits conflicts checks for career attorney positions. Prepares new hire announcements and SCFs.
Assists with the administration of annual survey requests, including Vault and AmLaw. Participates in editing of the hard copy and online Vault Report, made available to new recruits, both entry-level and lateral.
Provides updates to the hiring web site and recruiting print materials. Collaborates with web editors to enhance the hiring web site for recruiting purposes.
Inputs and updates information into the legal recruiting database (LawCruit) for recruiting and tracking purposes.
Prepares and maintains Hiring Program reports and statistics.
Represents the firm through membership in the National Association for Law Placement and local legal recruiting organizations; stays current of evolving developments in field.
Conducts market research with peer firm representatives as requested.
Performs additional duties as assigned by the Directors of Legal Recruiting and Legal Recruiting Managers.
Support other members of HR and administrative staff on assigned projects.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Proficiency in the use of computer programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and database programs (e.g., LawCruit, Symplicity); advanced social media (LinkedIn etc.) and web-based programs skills are highly desirable
Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Minimum of two years’ previous experience in law firm or law school recruiting required; familiarity with and involvement in industry organizations, such as NALP, preferred
Ability to recognize confidential information and to maintain confidentiality of such information.
Flexibility in responding quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities.
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of firm personnel and with a wide spectrum of candidates.
Must be team-oriented and able to share information, goals, opportunities, successes and failures with the appropriate parties.
Ability to consult with attorneys and staff across levels of seniority to conduct searches to determine best approach to fulfilling staffing needs, re-evaluate as necessary.

This is an exempt position. Incumbent is expected to work the hours necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Some travel is required.
