Responsible and accountable for delivery of trust products and services. Responsible for developing and maintaining internal and external image of the trust department while managing a team that meets the customer’s individual needs and growing the trust department’s profitability base by establishing new and stronger customer relationships. Responsible for the entire operation of the trust department focused on new and existing customer relationship building and profitability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create and maintain an exceptional sales and service culture which include developing the bank’s calling program, measuring customer service standards, motivating staff and developing a referral base with staff.
Manages the overall trust administration function and communications and activities, including staff selection, training, management and profitability.
Allocates office assets and resources to enhance profitability. Develops and maintains a profitable department by ensuring efficient, quality account administration.
Maintain and oversee the bank’s trust software (AccuTrust) and generate research and reports for bank management and board of directors when requested.
Maintain and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports for bank management including but not limited to trust fees, Trust FDIC Call Report, farm leases/terminations. Effectively perform operational and clerical activities within the trust department.
Leads in the implementation of system changes to support new products, ensures system integrity and recommends program changes to more efficiently and effectively support services offered.
Minimizes bank’s liability exposure by complying with established policies and procedures and enforcing controls, ensuring that staff and associates comply.
Works professionally with attorneys, accountants, investment advisors and others in the management of trust and estate assets.
Develops new account relationships through community and professional visibility.
Participates in community organizations and events to enhance the images and reputation of the financial institution in the communities it serves or plans to serve.
Provide problem solving leadership in complex situations for complex problems.
Prepares periodic, informational reports for management.
Complies with regulatory rules and regulations, evidenced through successful completion of training and demonstrated ability. Topics include but are not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti Money Laundering, Ethics, Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), etc.
Reflects a positive image for the Bank by exuding professional demeanor at all times and contributing to community involvement
Keep abreast of current industry trends, regulatory issues and overall economic environment. Integrate knowledge into strategic and operational business planning.
Chair of Trust committee for the bank.
Perform other duties as awarded by management based on performance.
Manages Trust Support staff in Perry office location. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) in Finance or business-related field required; or five to ten years experience of banking/trust experience or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory and management experience preferred.
Computer and data processing literacy required, including adept experience with Microsoft Office programs, AccuTrust software, and FiServ software. Experience with MS Access, Excel and Word is helpful, but not required. Bank regulation and compliance is required. Extensive background and thorough knowledge of tax, probate and fiduciary laws and practices is helpful but not required. Strong Administration skills with effectiveness in developing tasks and managing resources to achieve target/goals. Must be an enthusiastic, positive leader and a productive team player. Strong analytical, organizational and decision-making skills. Ability to represent the financial institution professionally to outside and/or customer contacts.
Mathematical, organizational and verbal and written communication skills required. Must be highly motivated with good communication skills, autonomous, and capable executing tactical plans in line with strategic objectives.
Ability to read, analyze, interpret and implement regulations and laws, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, policy and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to apply mathematical operations including but not limited to variance analysis, factor analysis, correlation techniques, sampling theory and sensitivity analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and/or problems and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver’s license required for travel to Bank offices, training sessions, customer meetings, Bank and community meetings, etc. Ability to speak a foreign language helpful but not required.
Life Insurance & Annuity licenses preferred but not required.
