The New York office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP has an opening for a Legal Recruiting Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following recruitment functions, including, but not limited to, general recruitment support, as well as additional projects upon request.
Assist in the preparation for on-campus interviewing.
Assist in the coordination of the interview process (including scheduling office interviews and escorting recruits).
Maintain and ensure accuracy of applicant data base (VI Desktop) for all entry-level and lateral associate hiring activity. Generate related hiring reports. Enter data of all search firm, unsolicited and on-campus applicants in VI Desktop. Track pertinent candidate information.
Assist in the organization of materials for hiring committee meetings.
Attend and help coordinate summer associate program events including after-parties, offer dinners and on-campus recruiting activities.
Update recruiting files, monitor recruiting expenses and process expense reimbursements.
Assist in the preparation of student survey and statistical analysis.
Coordinate attorney travel logistics reservations for recruiting programs.
Perform various clerical duties for the attorney recruiting function as needed.
The successful candidate must be team-oriented, self-motivated and have the ability to work independently, as well as possess the following characteristics:

Basic administrative support skills.
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with a service-oriented attitude.
Ability to effectively communicate in a courteous and professional manner.
Ability to juggle multiple assignments and adapt to changing priorities.
Ability to exercise discretion, good judgment, flexibility and maintain confidential information at all times.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Ideal
Experience working with Symplicity (Law School employment communications tool) and VI Desktop, our applicant tracking software, is strongly preferred.
Event planning experience.
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree and experience in a professional office setting.
