Manage all aspects of the recruitment, hiring, and integration of summer associates, entry-level associates and lateral associates for our New York office. Work closely with office managing partners and local practice group heads, the Hiring partners and committee, the Summer Chairs and committee, the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Director of Administration, and senior leadership in the ARR Department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Execute law student, entry and lateral attorney recruiting in the New York office;
Work closely with search firms and coordinate in-office interviews for all associate candidates;
Manage robust orientation, onboarding and integration process for entry level and lateral associates;
Assist and provide local support for national hiring initiatives and a variety of communication initiatives, including development and production of recruiting materials, gather research and maintain competitive data, as well as assist with programs and diversity initiatives to include the development of strategic marketing initiatives to attract top legal talent;
Develop and maintain positive relationships with various law school careers services personnel and search firm contacts to facilitate the Firm’s recruiting efforts;
Work with associates and firm management on issues related to associate lifecycle;
Administration of the on-campus and in-office interview process for law students;
Ensure the due diligence process for summer associate, entry-level and lateral candidates is completed;
Manage all aspects of the summer associate program; Provide support and assisting with lateral partner hiring and integration on an as need basis;
Assist with survey preparation and report generation; Oversee the applicant tracking database;
Assist with preparing and maintaining an annual recruiting budget;
Oversee department staff as assigned; Ability to work successfully as a team within the firm-wide Attorney Resources & Recruitment department.
QUALIFICATIONS:Must be specifically listed on resume in order to be considered for this position.
Bachelor's Degree Required.
Four plus years of law firm recruiting experience required.
Experience overseeing one or more support personnel is preferred. Must have knowledge of NALP and industry-wide legal recruiting practices and standards and a familiarity with attorney development and training. Candidates must demonstrate excellent judgment, professionalism, leadership, organization and team-management skills. Maintain confidentiality at all times. Ability to positively represent and promote the Firm. Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills; strong managerial skills; and proficiency with ViDesktop, MS Word, and MS Excel.
