• Under the direction of supervisors, performs duties as related to business analysis, solution implementation, and technical analysis and recommendations. • Working with the Legal Technology Innovation group and clients to assist with business analysis and implementation of software solutions to improve business processes and collaboration. • Duties include creating custom sites within the SharePoint environment, SharePoint site maintenance, attending discussions with customers and colleagues and assisting in the requirements and design of solutions, coding, documenting, and unit testing of web applications. • Coordinate efforts with members of team/management to ensure that solutions are implemented containing the desired functionality. • Manage the implementation of projects from requirements to production. • Provide timely, accurate resolutions for any issues in a courteous, professional manner. • Provide after-hours technical support and coverage when needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES • Work directly with the Legal Technology Innovation group (LTI) to assess requirements and recommend/design solutions. • Become familiar with all firm applications and solutions that assist with the practice of law. • Work with Clients, Attorneys and LTI to build solutions for legal applications. • Code custom web parts, features, events, workflows, etc. for SharePoint as required by solution design. • Create applications and solutions using the SharePoint platform. • Integrate applications and data as required by solution design. • Listen to customer requests and determine need and design solutions to fill those needs. • Proactively research new technologies and advise on their use. • Work with other teams to troubleshoot, support and build solutions. • Design test plans and test applications. • Manage projects from requirements to rollout. • Assist with the development of training for new applications. • Assist in the resolution of support issues. • Assist in the preparation of technical documentation for applications assigned. • Attend meetings with users and colleagues as required. • Assist in the rollout of third party tools. • Review publications and attend seminars, conferences as assigned and relating to technologies used in by Alston & Bird. • Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL • Ability to analyze client needs and develop application to meet those needs. • Must have strong problem solving skills, as well as excellent programming language skills. • Must have a familiarity with SAN storage, networking and server management. • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills. • Must have the ability to work independently. • Strong attention to detail is essential as well as a demonstrated ability to work under pressure. •Must have at least 2-4 years of solid professional experience in software development. • Four year degree from an accredited college or university majoring in Computer Science, Computer engineering or related technical area, preferred, but not required. • Equivalent work experience/education will be taken into consideration.
