TrueNorth, an Insurance and Financial Strategies firm, has an immediate opening for a Senior Counsel to support our Legal team in Cedar Rapids,IA. The Senior Counsel's primary responsibility is to support the legal function, and the efforts of the General Counsel. This position will work with business leaders to ensure our legal agreements and processes support the Company in achieving growth and profitability goals.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Drafting, negotiating, reviewing, and revising a wide range of business agreements and documents such as; commercial contracts, third-party agreements, vendor contracts, commercial leases, legal entity documentation for corporations and LLC's
Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and collaborating with our business teams on all aspects of service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, statements of work, and other Company agreements
Proactively identify solutions for potential compliance and risk
Coordinating and assisting with development and implementation of efficient business processes around compliance, contracts, claims, litigation, carrier and broker agreements, as well as, corporate documents
Managing projects to ensure completion, efficiency and accuracy of communication, documents and implementation
Assisting in management and further development of members of the legal staff
Perform other duties as assigned, appropriate to position

Education & Experience
A Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school is required
Must be a member in good standing of the state bar
3-8 years professional experience as a practicing attorney is required
Strong background in all aspects of commercial contracts and corporate transactions is required
Experience with date protection, privacy, risk management, software licensing, intellectual property, and insurance regulation is preferred
Experience working with insurance companies or independent insurance agencies is ideal
