Essential Job Duties:
The primary purpose of this position is to actively participate in the overall management of the student conduct process. The staff member in this position will be one of five hearing officers in the Office of Student Conduct and will review and make decisions in student conduct cases that may lead to suspension or expulsion from the university. The Assistant Director will act as a co-advisor, focusing on the supervision and guidance of the conduct board. The Conduct Boards, a group of approximately 35, include faculty, staff, and students and are responsible for reviewing and resolving both academic and non-academic misconduct cases that may lead to suspension or expulsion from the university.
The Assistant Director will also engage in the training and selection of board members, assessment, educational program development, and delivery for students and faculty members. This staff member will advise faculty members as they seek to resolve charges of academic misconduct. They will further meet with and advise students regarding their rights and responsibilities within the conduct process. They will conduct both disciplinary conferences and administrative hearings and impose sanctions based on case analysis and case precedent. This staff member will be working independently to resolve these cases through meetings with respondents and complainants, University police officers, and attorneys speaking on behalf of their student clients.
The Assistant Director will assist with the outreach efforts for the office, which includes leading the social media efforts. Serve as primary advisor to the Conduct Board and the supervision of that group's work in the review of conduct cases. Develop, coordinate, and oversee the planning and facilitation of the selection process for conduct board members. Coordinate and facilitate all aspects of the department's assessment plan. Coordinate, design and deliver our media materials. Present and facilitate educational programs.
Act in the role of Hearing Officer. Advise students in the conduct process. Maintain, update, and report on confidential student records

Require post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor's degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience.
Working knowledge of best practices in the conduct field, a demonstrated knowledge of Title IX requirements, confidentiality as defined by FERPA, experience with diverse populations, strong ethical foundations and the ability to establish collaborative relationships with campus and community partners.
Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, or other Student Affairs related field, and at least one year of experience in a conduct role preferred.
Experience in a University conduct position and demonstrated high quality communications skills strongly preferred.
