Position Summary: Founded in 1947 CEB is one of California's oldest and most prestigious legal information and continuing legal education providers. CEB publishes judgments of California case law, practical guidance for attorneys and, CLE all in a variety of practice areas and formats e.g. print, online and, in-person.
This position is responsible for the leadership of the Publishing Systems and Online Product Support group. This role will require vertical publishing experience and experience in designing and implementing production quality solutions. This role will be a thought-leader in the organization, with real-world business common sense, the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across functions. The role is responsible for the specification design, development and implementation of CEB digital products including content management and publishing frameworks. Candidate should possess knowledge of several development languages, databases and technologies. In addition, this role will be responsible for managing CEB or 3rd party development resources. The architect partners with both business and technology groups to ensure that the proposed technical solutions not only align with the company's overall strategy and objectives, but also ensures that both groups enable and drive each other to meet the needs of the company's mission and vision. They also spearhead forward-looking assessment of industry technology trends to drive continuing improvement and innovation.

Responsible for ongoing maintenance and continual updating of online platform.
Develops enterprise level solutions that integrate across applications, systems and platforms. Participates in the design, development, testing, debugging, maintaining and documenting of system components and solutions.
Design content flow from various back-end content production sources.
Defines solutions architecture standards, policies and procedures for the organization.
Identifies, analyzes and resolves problems relating to systems integration, compatibility and multiple platforms.
Researches, evaluates and recommends new technologies, techniques or solutions to solve business problems.
Partners with business and technology subject-matter experts to elicit business requirements and envision technological solutions, including vendor research and build/buys decisions.
Develops and maintains policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure that a consistent framework is applied across the company, and that technical and architectural best practices are widely adopted.

Duty 2: Provide leadership and guidance for all Publishing System Support tasks.
Achieve desired results by the use of budgets, efficient and effective decision-making, and management.
Develop and mentor Online Production Manager in order to facilitate department planning, staffing, and project management.
Participate in the CEB information technology budgeting process, and provide leadership in cost and productivity analysis.
Monitor, manage and assess team members' performance and skill sets. Conduct performance evaluations and lead discussion of evaluations with employees. Take or ensure that disciplinary action is taken when necessary.
Provide performance coaching for team members to maximize performance and convey clear and effective guidance on work priorities.
Develop organizational capabilities consistent with best practices in DevOps, Agile/SCRUM, continuous integration, and metadata management. Function:People Management Percent: 50
Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 10 years experience in Information Technology with extensive experience managing a complex network environment. At least 5 years experience working with front-end technologies.
Demonstrated analytical skills, creative and innovative problem-solving skills and management ability. Demonstrated ability to perform problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
Demonstrated experience in the selection, evaluation, development, and delivery of web platforms and continuous integration practices.
Demonstrated specialized knowledge in most aspects of designing and constructing enterprise content management solutions
Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to communicate complex concepts in a direct and straightforward manner
