We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Senior Paralegal to join our team!
What you will be doing:
Provide primary support on highly complex issues, such as brand regulations, product development, member/provider demand letters and audits by various regulatory agencies including CMS, the North Carolina Department of Insurance (NCDOI) and the Department of Labor.
Support as required by BCBSNC departments with reviews and issues, including review of materials for compliance with regulations, communication with the BCBS Association, and brand compliance.
Research and analyze facts, legal issues and documents.
Support BCBSNC attorneys as required on health care, litigation, corporate or contract legal matters.
Assist in researching NCDOI complaints and drafting responses.
What you will have:
Professional Paralegal Certification required if no law degree
If no professional paralegal certification:
Law degree and 3 years of paralegal experience in a law firm, corporate legal department or government agency
OR Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of paralegal experience in a law firm, corporate legal department or government agency.
If no degree, 8 years of paralegal experience in a law firm, corporate legal department or government agency.
Nice to have:
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to conduct legal research
Experience using Microsoft Office products
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to create and organize legal files
