The Legal Support Specialist 3 provides executive-level support to attorneys and staff, serves as liaison between clients and attorneys, and performs a wide range of complex analytical and administrative duties.REQUIRED-Experience working at an executive level office and providing high level specialized support to executive leadership.-Excellent written and oral communications skills.-Demonstrated project management skills to provide support to attorneys.-Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and gather and synthesize large amounts of facts/data, determine course of action and formulate recommendations supported by facts.-Ability to make timely, well-considered decisions which promote the mission, values and vision of UC Davis Healthand to assure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.-Ability to communicate by telephone and in person in an effective, courteous, cooperative and diplomatic manner. -Ability to work effectively under stressful situations which may include, but is not limited to, heavy workload, conflicting priorities, frequent interruptions, and abrupt and changing deadlines.-Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships throughout the University and local community.-Ability to be highly organized, efficient and expeditious. -Knowledge and experience with handling highly confidential and privileged materials. -Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience of computer networks and document management systems and software applications such as Windows, Excel, Microsoft Word.-Knowledge of legal research tools (i.e., Westlaw, Lexis). -Knowledge of methods to research information on specific topics; analytical skills to identify and perform necessary investigation of ancillary topics.-Knowledge of the general regulatory process (i.e., statutes, regulations, governmental agencies and policies) affecting health operations.-Ability to read, understand and interpret legal documents, statutes, and regulations and summarize findings.
