Schedule Information: This is a full time, tenure track position. Teaches 15 hours per week and maintains a minimum of 10 office hours per week for student consultation. Serves on college committees; participates in departmental and divisional initiatives.
Weeks per fiscal year: Faculty are covered under a 9-month contract period (August thru May)

Position Description and Duties: The Paralegal Studies Faculty/Program Coordinator will provide leadership for and instruction in the College’s ABA accredited Paralegal Studies Program. The successful candidate will teach courses to prepare students for careers as Paralegals. This includes providing instruction in Paralegal courses such as; Introduction to Paralegal Studies, Fundamentals of Legal Research and more.
As the Program Coordinator, the successful candidate must be knowledgeable about the Paralegal profession and be able to demonstrate knowledge about developments in Paralegal education. The Paralegal Studies Coordinator must be committed to continued professional growth in the field as well as in instructional techniques. The Program Coordinator should have experience working with or as a paralegal.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for defining major program objectives; representing the program throughout the administrative and academic structure of the institution and in the community; determining the financial needs of the program and formulating the program budget; advising program students; assuring the proper organization and operation of the advisory committee; maintaining liaison with the legal, paralegal, and paralegal education communities; arranging and monitoring internships; evaluating library resources; as well as coordinating and evaluating the educational program including regular assessment of the extent to which the program is meeting its stated goals and objectives.
Educational Requirements: A Juris Doctorate degree is required; Must be licensed to practice law.
Experience Requirements: Must be an attorney that has worked closely with legal assistants or paralegals.
