Thomas Law Firm, PLC is seeking a highly motivated and passionate candidate with a strong interest or background in immigration law. Candidates with any type of prior experience in immigration law are preferred, including but not limited to having taken an immigration law class, worked at an internship or having practiced immigration law.
The candidate will be expected to:
Represent immigrant clients (detained and non-detained) in front of USCIS, DHS, EOIR and DOS in family immigration, naturalization, U visa, asylum, I-751 waivers, VAWA matters, consular processing, 212(h), 212(i), I-212, I-601, unlawful presence and provisional waivers.
Represent clients before the Immigration Courts and BIA in removal defense, all applications for immigration relief, criminal removal matters, custody and bond hearings, and contested removal cases.
The candidate must have an interest in developing his or her litigation skills; have strong case management ability, legal research and legal writing skills.
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to take initiative and work under pressure;
The candidate must be able to present excellent customer service to clients and potential clients.
The candidate must be willing to travel to detention centers anywhere in Arizona.
Conduct client intake and consultations.
Other tasks as needed and as assigned by the firm’s management.
2-4 years preferred. Will consider less experienced.
