O'Melveny & Myers LLP has an immediate need for a Manager of Compensation to be based out of the San Francisco office. The Compensation Manager will be responsible for all compensation and incentive plan related matters for all offices, including executive compensation. The successful candidate will also work closely with firm leadership to develop and implement new compensation programs. They will be expected to provide knowledgeable and detailed analysis on market data.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and execute annual staff compensation processes for the US, Europe and Asia offices including executive compensation.
Assess existing staff compensation programs and develop new ones as appropriate.
Provide key support for annual partner, associate and staff attorney compensation processes.
Participate in both legal and general industry compensation surveys.
Analyze appropriate market data to develop market data points for new and existing positions.
Prepare detailed, ad hoc compensation analyses as required for senior Firm management.
Provide consultation to senior management, directors, managers and office administrators with respect to market data, internal equity, and compensation guidelines.
Periodically audit Workday to ensure that changes to compensation and classifications have been properly processed. Create and update existing job profiles as necessary.
Manage multiple compensation processes occurring at the same time of year, particularly at year-end.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in compensation required. Law firm experience highly desirable.
Knowledge of compensation practices in Europe and Asia would be highly advantageous
Must have strong quantitative and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with exceptional organizational skills
Must be customer-service oriented and be able to provide responsive, accurate and thoughtful support to many different individuals and departments worldwide
Proficiency with Excel
Familiarity with HRIS systems (Workday preferred)
CCP from WorldatWork highly desirable.
B.A. or B.S. degree is required. Advanced degree desirable but not required.
