The IT Support Manager is responsible for supporting and enhancing a reliable infrastructure as well as delivering IT related solutions and services to the firm. The IT Support Manager role works in collaboration with the firm’s Managed Service Provider (MSP) IT vendor.
Responsibilities may include:
Manages and maintains all IT infrastructure services.
Oversight of the firm’s Managed Service Provider (MSP) and onsite engineers for infrastructure, desktop support and security initiatives.
Administers the firm’s VOIP phone system.
Tracks end-user issues through MSP ticketing system as well as hardware/software vendor assigned cases.
Maintains user accounts for Lexis Nexis, Lexis Total Patent and additional search subscriptions.
Teleconferencing and A/V systems management.
Ensures updates and new software/hardware is compatible with existing infrastructure.
Creates and manages user accounts and ensures that desktop hardware is configured appropriately.
Drafts, reviews and implements policies relating to technology use and maintenance in accordance with legal industry standards.
Oversight and audit of security and disaster recovery procedures.
Conducts new hire training sessions for all employees on systems and applicable software and policies.
Performs the full range of project management lifecycle for all IT initiatives.
Ensures that all critical systems are functioning 24/7, that data and VMs are backed up regularly, and that disaster recovery plans are tested periodically.
Skill & Ability Requirements:
Must be service and detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong organization skills and must be able to prioritize and multi-task.
VDI administration and maintenance experience (VMWare, Citrix, Azure, AWS).
Ability to maintain a professional and courteous atmosphere.
Strong understanding of networking, routing and switching protocols and standards and experience managing related appliances, hardware and software.
Windows desktop and server OS administration (Win 7, 8, 10 – Server 2012, 2016).
Office 365 administration.
Exchange online administration.
Active directory administration.
MSP and vendor management experience.
Experience managing and implementing SPF services.
Firm understanding of information security principles and protocols.
Document Management System administration and maintenance in a legal environment (iManage preferred).
Experience managing hosted VOIP communication systems.
Auditing and Compliance experience in a law office environment.
Ability to be flexible as business needs may require work hours outside of core business hours.

iManage: Certified Systems Engineer
VMWare: VCP, VCAP, VCDX
Cisco: CCNA (Routing and Switching)
ILTA membership (or meets eligibility requirements for membership)
