Pepper Hamilton LLP, a sophisticated Am Law 100 firm with more than 425 attorneys in 14 offices, seeks a Practice Group Coordinator for the Construction, Labor, and White Collar Groups. The Practice Group Coordinator will report to the Practice Group Leaders and a Practice Group Director, and will work closely with the attorneys within the group.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Handle administrative aspects of Practice Group management to allow Practice Group Leaders to focus on leading the Practice Group and practicing law. Support the Practice Group Leaders in implementing business strategy. Develop relationships with Practice Group members and communicate regularly to understand and coordinate addressing their needs. Collaborate with office managers and heads of staff departments to meet the needs of the Practice Group. Identify frictions in the administration of the delivery of services and advocate best practices. Foster teamwork and a positive working and service environment for all.
Practice Group Management and Administration: Organize and prepare for Practice Group meetings, retreats and other events. Review and analyze monthly financial and hours reports. Coordinate budgeting and business planning. Confirm appropriate use of charge numbers on travel and entertainment forms and check requests for non-client billable expenses. Oversee vacation schedules for timekeepers.
Marketing and Business Development: Assist with the online Practice Group and partner goals and business development planning process. Liaise with marketing personnel on marketing and other client development matters for the Practice Group. Work with Marketing and Pricing Department to coordinate responses to RFPs and pitches, and manage and resolve resource conflicts. Assist marketing in collecting RFP success rate data. Liaise with marketing in preparing submissions to ranking surveys and other similar reports for business development.
Other responsibilities and projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills: Individual must be highly organized and detail-oriented; strong practical problem-solving abilities using logic, analysis, creativity, follow through and client service skills; good judgment and strong decision-making skills, including the ability to understand complex situations, effectively analyze options and develop sound conclusions; ability to develop collaborative relationships with a broad array of individuals; ability to explain/sell the needs of the Practice Group; competence in setting structure; exceptional verbal and written communication skills; self-direction and independent motivation; ability to multitask; accept constructive feedback and criticism without being easily offended; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Elite, and other applicable business software applications.
