We are currently searching for an Associate Counsel to join our Medical Funding team. The Associate Counsel will be responsible for underwriting, diligence, and transactional analysis in order to ensure sound investments and support the Company’s medical receivables funding business line in its continued growth. The successful candidate should be an experienced and self-motivated attorney with a steady disposition and good judgment. The successful candidate must consistently produce outstanding work product in a fast-paced environment, while coordinating efforts with senior management and other departments.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Provide legal and professional support related to the Company’s medical receivables funding business line. • Independently evaluate and underwrite submissions from intake through funding, in order to ensure compliance with internal eligibility parameters, including, but not limited to, a detailed review of medical bills, medical records, and liability documentation. • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with medical providers, executives, attorneys, and support staff. • Review applications and diligence findings for new potential customer relationships and make recommendations regarding the results thereof. • Conduct legal research on various topics, such as new markets, servicing activities, and risk mitigation. • Other duties as assigned.
• JD or equivalent degree (required). • Admitted to practice law and in good standing, with a minimum of three years of experience as a practicing attorney (required). • Strong attention to detail is essential to the success of this role. Must also have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professional, quality work product and self-starter aptitude. • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. • Experience at a personal injury firm or in an underwriting field is preferred. • Familiarity with medical procedures and/or medical coding is beneficial.
