Rutgers has obtained funding to represent individuals in local immigration detention centers. The Staff Attorney will represent detained immigrants in Newark and surrounding areas before the immigration courts and Board of Immigration Appeals. The Staff Attorney, working with Professor Gupta, will also coordinate clinical and nonclinical law students and attorneys representing these individuals or providing assistance to the project.
Minimum Education and Experience:
J.D. and at least 3 years' experience representing immigrants in removal defense proceedings required. Admission to the bar of any state, in good standing, required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Fluency in another language is desired, though not required.
