Pricing Manager will be a member of the Pricing Group and will report to the Director of Pricing & Practice Management Economics. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for creating recommendations for fee arrangements that support client business, and legal, needs. This role will provide support in the creation of economic models that drive client engagement. Pricing Manager will provide effective proposals and matter budgets, as well as monitor performance and provide relevant analysis to stakeholders. Pricing Manager will work with the Director of Pricing & Practice Management Economics to effectively deliver pricing solutions to stakeholders and support the pricing function.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Consult with attorneys to respond to complex fee arrangement requests.
Collaborate with attorneys to develop value-based fee proposals for existing and prospective clients.
Assist with the development, preparation, and production of complex reporting required by internal and external clients for individual matters or portfolios of client work.
Support partners with their decision-making on any aspects of pricing.
Undertake financial modeling and scenario analysis to support pricing decisions and improve the firm’s pricing analytics capabilities and to better understand and predict the costs of delivering work.
Implement and support the firm’s pricing approval process.
Assist in developing pricing models which align with the client expectations and firm strategy.
Act as a trusted adviser to the firm on pricing issues across all markets, including support on significant RFPs and pricing negotiations.
Work with partners and other firm departments to create and implement client/practice/sector/jurisdiction specific pricing strategies.
Assist in advising the firm on optimal standard rate changes and positioning.
Build relationships with pricing contacts within client organizations and the broader external market.
Provide guidance to relationship partners with client pricing negotiations through the provision of concise supporting data, recommendations, and advice on negotiation strategy.
Review the performance of existing pricing agreements to identify opportunities for enhancing current and future performance
Develop metrics and reporting tools to clearly illustrate trends and analysis of pricing performance
Assess key trends and develop pricing models for legal services and monitor profitability and implementation of those models
Provide content for training materials to offices and practice groups that help enable attorneys to become more skilled at crafting fee arrangements that deepen client relationships and help win new clients

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Accounting, Statistics, or Business.
Advanced degree preferred, CPA, MBA.
5 years of law firm, professional service firm, or related experience.
