Responsibilities for this position include:
Provides guidance to attorneys and administrative staff in the process of opening and closing of pro bono matters
Manages, tracks, and processes approvals of new pro bono matters
Develops, implements and maintains pro bono databases and tracking systems in order to ensure consistency of processes/procedures
Maintains pro bono GlobalNet site and external pro bono website
Develops and maintains knowledge management tools and knowledge management websites
Monitors status of active pro bono matters and pro bono hours and expenses
Collaborates on the transition of pro bono matters of departing attorneys
Collaborates on the writing and production of pro bono publications, articles and marketing materials
Collaborates on annual and quarterly management reports and on survey responses to outside publications
Composes responses to auditors, legal service providers, and non-profit clients on pro bono matter hours and expenses
Coordinates Global, US and local pro bono committee meetings, and prepares minutes for those meetings
Coordinates weekly staff conference calls and bi-weekly executive committee conference calls, and prepares minutes for those meetings
Coordinates pro bono events and legal trainings as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in related field. A combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job
A minimum of 3 years of related experience required
Prior experience working in a legal setting preferred
Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) required
Prior experience with database use and maintenance preferred
Strong written and oral communications skills in order to address a diverse population of employees
Keen organizational and analytical skills
Proficiency in Spanish strongly preferred
Familiarity with law firms or legal services/public interest organizations preferred
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines
Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
