Our Recruiting & Retention Department has the opportunity for an experienced Legal Recruiter to join the firm’s expanding Recruiting and Retention department to support the West Coast region of our 53 offices. This person will be based out of our Torrance, CA office. The Legal Recruiter will be responsible for the coordination of the West Coast’s lateral attorney and legal office staff recruitment and retention activities which include but are not limited to; creating and posting job ads on the Firm website and corresponding job boards, sourcing and cold calling candidates, occasionally attending nationwide Career Fairs, tracking and reporting Firm-wide recruiting data, phone screening candidates, scheduling interviews, checking references, helping to coordinate the West Coast’s Summer Associate recruiting efforts and also supporting the Summer Associate program in those offices. Travel for occasional team-based events to Indianapolis, Indiana or Greenville, South Carolina will be required of the Legal Recruiter.

Maintain relationships with Office Administrators and Managing Shareholders, keeping them informed and within all Firm Guidelines and protocols when it comes to recruiting for all open positions
Work with the Professional Development & Inclusion Department to achieve firm goals and objectives
Collaborate with Human Resources, ensuring consistent execution of common strategies
Coordinate recruiting features of the firm’s website careers pages, as well as the firm’s use of social media for recruiting purposes
Communicate with applicants and provide positive candidate experience
Lateral Attorney and Staff Recruiting
Screening Applications – Screen applications and send qualified candidates to the corresponding Office Managing Shareholders or Office Administrators as appropriate
Coordinate and track external search firm activities, including relationships throughout the firm and specific search agreements
Utilize Firm’s leased attorney database to source passive candidates, cold call them as appropriate or send them messages on LinkedIn Recruiter
Perform West Coast exit surveys and interviews
Summer Associate Recruiting
Ensure compliance with NALP guidelines in law student recruiting
Assist with tracking and reporting summer associate program data, including full time offers
Help report and track data related to Recruiting & Retention including monthly headhunter fee reports, exit information, source of new hires, resume counts, and other recruiting activity information
Assist with Firm NALP Surveys and other national surveys as assigned
Assist in training new team members on department expectations and protocol as well as other duties as appropriate
Assist Director of Recruiting & Retention with miscellaneous projects including vendor research, project submissions, attorney and diversity recruiting research, ordering promotional items, expense reconciliation, budget planning and other duties as assigned
Work within LawCruit or current ATS daily to screen, respond and organize candidates
Bachelor’s Degree required
3+ years of recruiting experience required
Experience recruiting in the legal or professional services industry is preferred
Experience working with LawCruit or similar ATS is a plus
Having some HR experience or educational background is preferred
Past experience with posting jobs on different job boards
Must possess the ability to thrive under a fast paced working environment
