In collaboration with the Attorney Recruiting Committee, the Attorney Recruiting Manager is responsible for the success of all aspects of attorney recruiting including (but not limited to): the Summer Associate Program, Fall recruitment initiatives, and lateral hires; new attorney orientation; managing the department budget; and the management of law school and vendor relationships. In addition, the Manager communicates goals and objectives to departmental staff, monitors the performance of departmental personnel and identifies performance issues, oversees the performance evaluation process, conducts disciplinary actions, handles employee-related issues and assists with the recruitment of new full-time Attorney Recruiting staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)
Manage the Summer Associate Program, Fall recruitment initiatives, and lateral hires;
Participate in Recruiting Committee meetings;
Provide strategic direction and implementation for hiring programs;
Develop strategic marketing plan for recruiting;
Establish and maintain relationships with law schools and placement firms; and
Stays current with attorney recruiting industry trends through participation in industry associations.
Firm-wide orientation w/ senor partner and administrative managers;
Professional Responsibility orientation w/ partner in charge;
Human Resources Orientation; and
Counsels attorneys, assists in their acclimation to the firm and coordinates issues/needs with the Attorney Training and Development Managers
Partner with Attorney Training and Development leaders to work on special projects geared towards continuous improvement of functions and processes related to Attorney Recruiting.
Drive the implementation of special projects and new initiatives for Staff Recruiting.
Prepare, analyze, and present project requirements, monitor project status, and provide updates to recruiting and business leaders.
Supervises Attorney Recruiting staff;
Hires, reviews, disciplines and terminates staff as needed;
Manages department budget; and
Other projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years managing strategic recruitment for a large law firm or professional service corporation. A Bachelor's degree and active membership in LAALRA and NALP is required.
This position requires an individual with superior customer service, professional communication, and team leadership abilities. The selected candidate will demonstrate outstanding performance management, project and budget management, and time management skills. The selected candidate will demonstrate expertise in attorney recruitment best practices and will have the ability to influence others, work across all levels of management, and work with various personality types.
MS Office required specifically including Excel and PowerPoint.
