The Applications Analyst assists with the maintenance and support of the firm’s applications and assists with the research and implementation of new software, and technical solutions. The Applications Analyst reports to the IT Manager - Applications Support, and provides technical support across the firm on IT related issues.
Own and resolve issues as they are escalated by the HelpDesk.
Develop and maintain custom HotDocs templates to support a variety of sections and practices of the firm.
Responsible for testing, upgrading, implementing and deploying the latest versions of existing software or new software to the firm’s sections and departments.
Provide guidance and support to others in the Information Technology department on how to best install software and support the firm’s users.
Recommend solutions to business problems and assist in meeting business requirements.
Carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: software upgrades and enhancements, software implementations and rollouts to specific departments and sections/practice areas, liaison role between vendors and users, custom development and configuration, software evaluation and purchasing recommendation, primary and backup ownership of multiple software applications and multi-tiered systems, and best practices in software installation and utilization.
Provide technical support to the firm and its users to maximize firm productivity.
Patch and maintain software and enterprise systems.
Maintain IT documentation.
The Applications Analyst has additional responsibilities in these areas:
Desktop image refreshes.
Relocation of client/server software and databases.
Specialized user training.
Data synchronization across multiple systems.
Own, track, and communicate software maintenance and license costs to management for budgeting purposes.
Firm wide rollouts and implementation of new software.
Assist with the day-to-day efficient operation of the IT department.
Assume additional responsibilities as requested.
In depth knowledge of client/server & database application environments.
Strong understanding and ability to troubleshoot web applications in an environment primarily supported by Microsoft technologies.
Familiarity working in environments hosted in Azure and benefits and capabilities of Azure AD.
Strong understanding of Windows Networking and Active Directory Services.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Group Policy, and Microsoft Server Administration.
Strong familiarity working with Microsoft SQL Server stored procedures, relational database structures, SQL DTS and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
Understanding of Citrix farm environments and how they are applied in a business setting.
Strong understanding of Microsoft PC and server software and related technologies. This includes but it is not limited to packaging and deploying software in an enterprise environment using SSCM. Also, strong knowledge of Office 2016, Office 365, and Windows 10 OS, SharePoint 2010, 2013 & 2016, VMs and others.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
7+ years of experience supporting users in a professional services environment are required. Law firm experience preferred.
