Rutgers Law School Clinical Program in Camden seeks an experienced and exceptionally organized individual to serve as Department Administrator. The Rutgers Law School Clinical Program based in the Camden location includes six distinct live-client clinics. At various times we have 5-7 full-time faculty teaching in our clinics as well as an additional 3-4 staff attorneys working on a variety of grant funded projects. Our dual mission is to provide outstanding live-client educational opportunities to law students, and legal representation to underserved clients and community partners. The Department Administrator will oversee the administrative functions of the clinic, including managing grants and budgeting, developing and implementing protocols for case management and conflict checking, supervising clinic support staff and work-study students, and engaging in outreach to students and community partners in a variety of forums. The Department Administrator will report to the Director of Clinical Programs and will work closely with the clinical faculty and with the Law School and campus administrative and operational leadership
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience plus two years of relevant experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Supervisory experience, strong computer skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, good writing and speaking skills. Must be able to take initiative, work independently, assess situations quickly, and be proactive about identifying and implementing solutions to problems. Must be self-directed, organized, and willing to identify and assume new responsibilities as the needs of the clinics evolve.
Proficiency in and substantial experience as law office manager including knowledge and experience with case management and conflicts of interest systems, computing systems, accounting or financial management experience, or experience with raising and maintaining grants for non-profit organizations.; J.D. degree, law school coursework or paralegal experience; bilingual Spanish/English.
