The Vice President of Legal will be responsible for the corporate legal agenda, with an emphasis on maintaining, developing and implementing CenturyTx’s strategy to define, defend and optimize the value of its intellectual property. This position will be responsible for defining the IP legal priorities and supporting CenturyTx’s teams across all of the Company’s operations. The Vice President of Legal will establish robust strategic IP guidance on CenturyTx’s research and development initiatives, working closely with the scientists and leadership team in advancing CenturyTx’s portfolio. This role will also be responsible for general corporate and transactional matters. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this attorney will have significant responsibility and ability to influence the Company’s portfolio and strategic direction.
CenturyTx is developing novel allogeneic living drugs for oncology that overcome the limitations of first-generation cell therapies. Bachelor’s degree and JD degree from an accredited school required, post-graduate degree in the biological sciences relevant to the work of CenturyTx is strongly preferred;
Minimum of 10 years of experience as an intellectual property attorney, in-house at a corporate legal department and within a law firm;
Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent Office preferred;
Relevant R&D experience in the life sciences, particularly biopharma or biotech sector;
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing effective IP policies and strategies;
Experience with early stage biopharmaceuticals preferred, with Cell Therapy exposure being highly desirable; and
Some general corporate and transactional experience preferred.
Local/regional candidates are preferred.
Admission to the Bar of at least one state and eligible for admission to the Pennsylvania Bar as in-house counsel. Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent Office preferred.
