Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking a highly motivated Practice Innovations Analyst to join the Practice Innovations Department in our Chicago office. The Practice Innovations Analyst collaborates with the Chapman Practice Innovations (CPI) Department team, other administrative departments and attorneys to establish creative solutions to business problems and promote attorney productivity, best practices, client service and innovation.
The day-to-day responsibilities of the Practice Innovations Analyst will include:
Leads new and ongoing document automation projects, and manages existing contract automation systems, including external client-facing sites
Researches and evaluates tools and procedures that promote productivity, efficiency and quality for legal work product and delivery of legal services
Leverages and crafts solutions using Chapman tools and third-party software to aid in the development of new solutions
Oversees technical requirements, design, quality assurance, testing, deployment, documentation and adoption of custom software applications
Gathers business requirements from Firm and client stakeholders, with ability to understand aspects of legal work product and develop use cases that translate between the business and technical teams
Assists with the management and ongoing process optimization of Chapman’s high-volume contract review service offering and the creation, deployment and oversight of similar service offerings
Monitors ongoing legal industry practices related to innovation, including trends, emerging technology and implementation challenges
Promotes visibility of CPI activities and solutions via Firm presentations, client meetings, and speaking engagements
Advises the Practice Innovations department and Firm management on new approaches, technologies and policies that promote overall business objectives and influence the Firm’s innovation roadmap
Bachelor’s degree; JD preferred but not required
Minimum of four years’ experience working in a professional services or law firm environment
Experience with Contract Express template coding and system management
Familiarity with content management systems, markup and/or scripting languages and web development
Excellent time management and project management skills with ability to work independently to meet objectives and deadlines
Excellent communication skills
Sharp analytical skills and close attention to detail
Ability to work as a member of a client-service oriented team in a professional, approachable manner
