Assistant Dean for Career Services Temple Law-(20000374)
The Assistant Dean for Career Services oversees the career planning mission for the passionate and extraordinary students and alumni of Temple Law School, and heads the dedicated and talented team in the Office of Career Services. These responsibilities include the development of initiatives to expand and enhance employment opportunities for students and graduates, representing the law school in regional and national organizations, and serving as a liaison to judges, legal employers, and other external constituencies. The duties include but are not limited to managing and directing the daily administrative operations of the Office of Career Services, including supervision of professional and administrative staff, tracking and reporting graduate and employment outcome statistics, counseling students and alumni, and developing, planning and implementing comprehensive career services programming to meet the changing needs of diverse student body and alumni. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
JD and at least 4 years progressive experience in legal practice recruiting, law school career services, or a Master’s degree and at least five years of progressive experience in program administration in career services, legal recruiting or a similar field. Experience maintaining academic records. Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:
* Ability to interact effectively with practicing attorneys on subjects that relate to graduate legal education.
* Demonstrated ability to compile and report employment data and prepare administrative reports and evaluations.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to interact with a diverse group of students, faculty and staff.
* Strong computer skills, including the ability to compile, analyze, and present statistical data and reports. Computer experience to include: standard word processing, spreadsheet database and presentation software as well as knowledge of web-based research techniques and social media platforms and outlets.
* Ability to develop and execute marketing strategies as well as plan, design and develop new post JD programs, as needed.
* Ability to work nights and/or weekends, if necessary.
* A Juris Doctor degree is highly preferred as is relevant legal or other graduate degree career services experience.
