The Assistant/Associate Attorney and Privacy Officer provides support to the General Counsel and serves as the University's Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Officer.
Manages general University legal matters under supervision of General Counsel. Responsibilities include but are not limited to contract review and preparation, real estate conveyances and acquisition, grant proposals, and state and federal regulatory compliance.
Advises and consults with a variety of University officials and serves on University committees as needed.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Law Degree from an accredited law school required and must be admitted to the Kentucky Bar within six months of employment.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:
Prior experience in a legal setting.
Excellent attention to detail.
Outstanding written and verbal skills.
Working knowledge of higher education law, the Kentucky Open Records Act, and real property law.
