Major, Lindsey & Africa has been exclusively retained by the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) to conduct a search for a Senior Employment Counsel to be based out of its Woodland Hills, CA corporate headquarters.
Overview: Reporting to the General Counsel, the Senior Employment Counsel provides insight on the full range of employment law issues including hiring, discipline, terminations, pay and benefits and labor relations. Additionally, the Senior Employment Counsel will provide litigation management, legal research, legal drafting and other litigation related tasks for class action as well as single plaintiff cases, including but not limited to matters involving alleged meal and rest period violations, failure to pay wages and/or bonuses, off-the-clock work, misclassification, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, and wrongful termination. A versatile and capable attorney and consummate team player, the Senior Employment Counsel will also be called upon to assist on other legal matters arising at CARD from time-to-time.

Relocation: Local candidates are strongly preferred.
Experience: The successful candidate should have at least 8-10 years of relevant experience in employment law and labor relations within or working on behalf of a healthcare organization with multi-state locations. S/he must also have prior experience working with diversity practices and affirmative action programs, as well as government affairs on legislation and policy statements associated with employment laws. The successful candidate will have assisted in developing and conducting training and education programs for employees. A combination of top tier law firm and in-house experience in the healthcare space with an employment focus is a plus. Experience in healthcare services or the healthcare industry generally is preferred.
Bar Admission: Must be a member in good standing of the California Bar.
