Senior Managing Counsel, Regulatory Affairs
Mastercard's Global Regulatory team is responsible for liaising with key regulators and law enforcement officials. This newly created position will provide regulatory support on emerging and innovative products and solutions as well as on strategic regulatory initiatives. This role will report to the EVP, Regulatory Affairs counsel and will be located in Purchase.
Role The VP, Senior Managing Counsel will be responsible for:
Providing regulatory advice on emerging products and solutions
Developing regulatory advice that can be applied in the absence of regulations keeping up with the pace of innovation
Assisting the SVP, Regulatory Affairs on providing advice on strategic corporate initiatives
Advising Mastercard senior leadership on the regulatory implications to Mastercard of innovative products and services.
Liaising with Product attorneys and Region Regulatory attorneys to develop global regulatory views of innovative products and services
Developing and updating a handbook of guidance from regulators and Central Banks on innovative products while also incorporating external legal opinions on such products,.
JD from an established and reputable law school
Experience in a regulatory position in a corporation, association or government context, as a regulatory attorney in a law firm working in the payments, banking or financial services sector or as a product attorney with significant engagement on regulatory implications of products and services
Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
Proven success in navigating multi-national organizations and operating effectively within a diverse multicultural organization
Must demonstrate a proactive, time sensitive, results driven approach in carrying out all duties, obligations, and responsibilities
