Cohen Milstein’s Washington, D.C. office is seeking an IT Manager to manage the day to day operations and administration of the firm’s technology. The Manager of IT provides application analysis, design, implementation and support of technology, and application-related projects such as computing platforms, network infrastructure, and software applications to meet business requirements. This role will partner with the business to innovate and drive continuous improvement enabled by IT solutions. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for the date-to-day management of the onsite teams and service providers in the offices.
Work closely with the outsourced Help Desk and Managed Services to ensure issues are resolved on time and the users’ impact is minimum.
Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure they cost-effectively meet the needs of the firm, deliver service level agreements and expected levels of quality and meet information security standards.
Develop productive relationships within and outside of IT to assure that everyone in the department is working effectively and efficiently.
Responsible to establish standards and processes for providing support for systems and applications.
Review and verify new applications for their feasibility to integrate into the current environment.
Contribute to the discovery of requirements as necessary to ensure timely completion of projects.
Ensure that the firm applications are effectively secured, risks mitigated, and ensure compliance with the firm policies and standards.
Support internal users in the day-to-day usage of the applications.
Provide periodic training to internal users on the standards and appropriate use of the applications.
Ensure software licensing compliance.
Create, implement and maintain the project and system-related documentation.
Implement and manage status reporting, metrics, and benchmarks.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or other related discipline preferred.
Experience in a multi-office law firm preferred.
Experience with project management methodology and ITIL best practices.
Skills, Abilities and Qualifications:
Minimum 5-7 years’ managing technical teams and end-user applications.
Extensive experience in managing enterprise applications typically used in law firms.
Experience in related IT disciplines, such as network engineering, database administration, computer operations, and production support.
Document management systems (iManage, NetDocuments, etc.)
Case Management systems (FileVine, etc.)
Document review and eDiscovery applications
Legal research and knowledge management systems
Line of business applicants (Aderant, ChromeRiver, HCM systems)
Mobile device management solutions
Microsoft Office suite of applications
Virtualization and cloud computing
VMWare Horizon View, vSphere
Microsoft Infrastructure (Active Directory, DNS, etc.)
Windows Server 2016-2019, SQL Server
Cisco UCS, HCM, Meraki, SD-WAN
Microsoft Office 365, Azure, Intune
Windows desktop support and management
Strong organizational skills.
Technical experience with supporting database servers. Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques.
Experience gathering complex requirements from customers and interfacing with clients.
Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required.
