Award-winning advocacy organization for abused kids seeks lead litigator for pro bono Children’s Law Clinic.
Gen Justice, an award-winning advocacy organization for abandoned and abused children, is expanding and seeks a successful, creative lead attorney for its pro bono Children’s Law Clinic.
The lead attorney will triage legal inquiries and handle dependency cases for the law clinic year-round. In addition, the attorney will establish a shareable education program to empower child advocates and caretakers, including foster providers, CASAs, FCRB members, social workers, and foster-agency personnel, with accurate information on dependency laws so they can improve their advocacy. Deliverables include creating a one-stop online education center. The successful candidate will have a proven litigation record in child welfare and foster care dependency matters. Experience in civil litigation is a plus, but not required. Successful candidates will be able to identify weaknesses and deficiencies in the laws and help develop reforms to remedy problem areas. Gen Justice offers flexible scheduling, remote work opportunities, and is foster and family friendly.
