This individual will develop technical training programs and help others develop skills that will make them better professionals. The IT Trainer must be extremely knowledgeable in the training field and possess solid technical aptitude. Additionally, must be an excellent communicator and be able to explain complex subjects in a clear and interesting way. The goal is to contribute to the development of people’s technical/IT skills to meet organizational needs. Familiarity with a variety of a law firm's concepts, practices, and procedures is preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Independently develop course curriculum for staff with input solicited from the CHRO and the HR department.
Responsible for developing and overseeing new hire orientation of attorneys and staff as it relates to all IT related items.
Development of written, verbal, and video training curriculum to promote learning.
Responsible for ensuring the overall effectiveness of training programs and develops and implements necessary actions for improvement.
Identify trends/training opportunities based on requests submitted to the help desk and participation with staff in groups or one-on-one.
Responsible for providing training for all aspects of technology to achieve a seamless and intuitive experience for attorneys and staff, including workstation setup, conference room setup, mobile experience, etc.
Evaluate and recommend solutions that promote user collaboration, such as real-time document coauthoring, desktop video conferencing, and secure file sharing.
Work closely with other IT team members to champion IT projects and initiatives through communication.
Create standard communication procedures for new releases, training announcements, and service changes, including but not limited to scheduled and unscheduled outages.
Perform root cause analysis to eliminate repeat issues and collaborate with other IT members on remediation.
Responsible for optimizing help desk workflow and follow-up procedures.
Development of self-service options to supplement help desk information.
Establish a feedback mechanism through which end users can rate their IT service.
Collaborate with Network Administrator on cybersecurity awareness training and work with firm leadership to promote compliance and participation in annual security training.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
Proven experience as technical trainer
Ability to demonstrate effective presentation and facilitation skills
Knowledge of modern training techniques and tools in technical subjects
Experience in designing technical course content
Working knowledge in MS Office and of general office equipment
Strong technical skills
Outstanding oral and written communication skills and comfortable speaking to crowds
Ability to consult with various user groups to improve performance and efficiency by applying and customizing existing technologies
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain key relationships
Ability to work with diverse client population as well as staff at all levels
Certification such as CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer) is a strong asset
Experience with Agile methodologies preferred.
Ability to travel to all office locations.
College degree or equivalent in business, human resources, communications or related field.
Experience working in a law firm or corporate legal department preferred
