Job Summary:
The Contracts & Procurement Department at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Purchase Associate. The successful candidate will:
Direct, manage, and coordinate all aspects of the procurement cycle while continually providing metrics for internal customer satisfaction, vendor management, quality improvement initiatives, and supply/service cost reductions;
Responsible for all aspects of Contract Management including, construction and its related services, the procurement of capital and non-capital equipment and software, office equipment, infrastructure repairs, and other miscellaneous areas;
The candidate must have comprehensive experience in cost analyses, estimating, bid evaluation, and the assimilation of market intelligence to determine the optimal sourcing strategy;
Prepare bid packages to be submitted to the NYS Attorney General's Office and the NYS Controller Office for approval.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, with at least 2-years of strategic sourcing experience,
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Salary Grade/Rank:
SL -4
Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
